Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy in the middle, this will quickly become your go-to meatball recipe! You probably don’t think juicy turkey meatballs is even a possibility, but trust me, it is! Let’s get to it.
Turkey Meatball Ingredients–What You Need
Ingredients photo is missing grated parmesan cheese
This is the simple ingredient list you need to make healthy turkey meatballs.
-
4 slices sourdough bread
Sourdough is easier to digest than many other breads thanks to its natural fermentation process, and it may help improve gut health by acting as a source of prebiotics. -
1/2 cup Greek yogurt
Greek yogurt is rich in protein and probiotics, which support muscle repair and a healthy digestive system. This is the secret ingredient! Not only does it add extra protein to the recipe, but also gives these meatballs the best texture. -
1/2 cup whole milk
Whole milk provides calcium and vitamin D for strong bones, along with healthy fats that help the body absorb fat-soluble vitamins. -
2 pounds ground turkey
Ground turkey is a lean protein source and it also includes selenium, zinc, iron, phosphorus, and B vitamins. You can use lean ground turkey with just white meat, or a mix of white and dark meat. Ground chicken will work here for chicken meatballs as well as ground beef if you’d prefer a more traditional beef meatball. -
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Parmesan adds flavor and also contributes calcium, protein, and phosphorus, which are all important for bone strength and energy metabolism. -
4 teaspoons dried parsley
Parsley is more than just garnish—it contains antioxidants like vitamin C and flavonoids that support immune health and reduce inflammation. Fresh parsley may be used if you have some on hand; use about 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley. Fresh parsley gives great flavor! -
2 large egg yolks
Egg yolks are nutrient powerhouses, supplying vitamins A, D, E, and B12, plus choline, which supports brain and nervous system health. The yolks help bind the ingredients together without the stickiness of the whites. Save the whites for something else! -
2 garlic cloves, minced
Garlic is well-known for its immune-boosting and anti-inflammatory compounds, including allicin, which may also support heart health. -
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
Salt is essential for the best flavor in these delicious meatballs. -
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Of course we use it for flavor, but black pepper contains piperine, a compound that not only enhances flavor but also boosts nutrient absorption and has antioxidant properties.

Remove the meatballs with a slotted spoon and transfer to a towel-lined plate. Cook the second batch of meatballs in the same way.
- Serve and enjoy! Store any leftover meatballs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 4-5 days. These also freeze well.
