I’m on a mission. I want my kids to learn to love soup. Could there be an easier soup to love than Chicken Noodle Soup? I sure don’t think so.

I wanted to start my mission with a soup that was not only easy to love, but also super easy to make. This Crockpot Chicken Noodle Soup recipe was the winner!

I did the big parenting no-no and I forced my kids to eat it. Judge away, but I knew they may not try any soup until they turn 25 if there wasn’t some sort of intervention. I’m sorry, but Ellyn Satter’s philosophies don’t work for everyone.how to make easy crockpot chicken noodle soup recipe one bowl side viewNormally when I cook soup for dinner, the kids get some deconstructed version of it (Basically, shredded chicken and a carrot)This time, they got soup. Take it or leave it, kiddos.

So what happened? crockpot chicken noodle soup-one bowl overhead shot and parsley

They both ate half a bowl of soup! The most they’d eaten before that night was probably half a bite, so I’m calling that a big win. Maybe it will be the beginning of them coming around and loving soup. Cross your fingers for me?

If you love a good bowl of Chicken Noodle Soup (who doesn’t, besides my kids, really?!), you’re going to absolutely adore this Crockpot Chicken Noodle Soup recipe.

How to Make (the best!) Crockpot Chicken Noodle Soup recipe

I just love putting my ingredients in the Crockpot in the morning and having dinner ready to go that evening. You start with:

  • 2 pounds bone-in chicken breasts
  • carrots
  • celery
  • onions
  • thyme, salt, pepper

Then you add your chicken stock and cook it on high for 4 hours or low for 8 hours.

After this, you remove the chicken and add the noodles to the pot. Separate chicken the meat from the bones and shred or chop the chicken meat and add it back to the pot.

Allow to cook an additional 5-10 minutes on low until the pasta is fully cooked.

That’s it! Your Crockpot Chicken Noodle Soup recipe is ready! Add a salad and you’ve got a healthy, easy dinner. This is one of my favorite soups ever, and that’s saying a lot. (Check out all my favorite soup recipes here.) I hope you make it soon!

Oh, and I hope your kids love it. 😉

Here’s a new video to show you how easy it is!
