I’ve only gotten my feet wet in canning, so this event is the perfect chance for me to watch, learn, and get inspired. You can come back to this post on Saturday and watch the event live from 11am-4pm EST. (The video will be visible at the bottom of this post during the live demonstrations.)
Even if you aren’t into canning, Ball brand has so many cool products and fun ways to use their jars. Check out these awesome lids and straws they sent me. Aren’t they cute? (Make sure to scroll to the bottom of this post for your chance to win some of these cool products!) The lids are made to fit on top of your Ball brand mason jars so you can drink your favorite beverages straight from the jar.
As for what kind of beverage, I highly suggest this Boozy Watermelon Slushy. Of course, you can leave the booze out and let the kids have some, but sometimes you just need an adult beverage, no?
This one has a few simple ingredients and is perfect for summer. If you don’t have or want to use coconut water, you can use a juice instead. I think orange juice or pineapple juice would be tasty. But my recommendation is coconut water, both for the taste and the health benefits. Coconut water is so hydrating, it has to counteract the dehydrating effects of the booze, right?

I have been wanting to can, but last summer we moved and this summer I have a newborn, a toddler, a puppy and a new work-from-home job, so it’s not going to happen. I do love Ball mason jars. I have one as part of the centerpiece on my dining room table. 🙂

What a cute lid. I do some canning but lately with all the fresh produce my canning jars are being used in the freezer.Glass is so much better than storing food in plastic. Also Ball canning jars are safe for freezing or refrigeration.
