Creamy Vegan Avocado Ranch Dip

The majority of kids I know are ranch monsters.  Give them a cup full of ranch dressing, and they’ll dip just about anything in it, including those elusive vegetables you’ve been trying to get them to eat.  If you have one of these kids, try this healthified homemade ranch dip.  Packed with the goodness of avocado and totally plant-based, this is a ranch dip you can feel good about serving your family.

Description

A creamy vegan dip that everyone will love

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened almond or soy milk + 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup vegan mayo (I use Grapeseed Oil Vegenaise)
  • 1/2 ripe avocado
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh Italian (flat-leaf) parsley
  • pinch dried dill
  • salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the milk and lemon juice.  Set aside for at least 3 minutes.  In a blender or food processor, add the milk mixture, vinegar, mayonnaise, avocado, garlic, chives, parsley, and dill.  Process until smooth and creamy.  Taste and add salt to your liking.  Chill at least 15 minutes before serving.
  2. As directed, this will make a dip consistency.  If you’d prefer a thinner dressing to use on a salad, add more milk, a tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency.
  3. Enjoy!

  1. We absolutely love this dip and I’ve made it twice now for my boys. They dip stuff they don’t normally eat into this dip. I snuck some red peppers (which my youngest loves) and sugar snap peas(which he normally won’t eat) on his plate with this dip and everything was gone within 5 minutes. Thanks for this recipe!

    1. You are welcome! I can’t wait until Meghan starts liking dips again. She currently won’t even try any dip, not even ketchup!

    1. Ha ha–as an English minor I’m very embarrassed, but thank you for pointing out my mistake. 🙂 Clearly I didn’t have enough time to proofread this post.

  2. Quick question: Do you add the vinegar twice or once? It’s listed twice on the ingredient list.

  3. Yummm!!!!! Cannot wait to try this one. Just ran out of avocados, though, will have to try and get some more soon. So glad you’re back. Hope everything went well with the move.
