Fight the common cold with nutrition! Can vitamin c help boost your immune system? You bet! This Vitamin C fresh juice recipe is loaded with foods high in vitamin c that can help keep you healthy. If you want a sweeter juice, try this Green Juice recipe that your kids will even love!Vitamin C Juice Recipe I am all about doing whatever I can to PREVENT myself from getting sick before it actually happens.

Meghan had the flu (I think…didn’t get her tested) over Christmas and the poor girl was miserable. I know her body was run down from late night Nutcracker rehearsals and it finally caught up to her. Even the consistent use of elderberry syrup can’t always stop it if you aren’t getting adequate sleep!

There’s a lot we have to do to take care of our bodies to prevent getting sick, but one way that we can really focus on it is to make sure our diets include the vitamins that keep our immune system strong!

A study published in 2009 states “…vitamin C deficiency results in a reduced resistance against certain pathogens whilst a higher supply enhances several immune system parameters.” (Details about the study here)

One great way to increase the vitamin c in our diet is fresh juice! This Vitamin C Juice recipe is filled with foods that are all high in that immune-boosting vitamin.Vitamin C Juice with fresh foods

Vitamin C Foods

  • oranges
  • lemon
  • papaya
  • cantaloupe
  • strawberries
  • brussels sprouts
  • sweet bell peppers
  • kiwi fruit
  • guava
  • tomato
  • kale
  • parsley
  • thyme
  • star fruit
  • kohlrabi
  • snow peas

In this Vitamin C Juice recipe, I’ve included orange, cantaloupe, parsley, and yellow bell pepper–all foods that make the list for being high in vitamin C!

Don’t have a juicer? You can make juice in a blender by blending and straining. Or try my Vitamin C Fruit Smoothie instead!

The juicer that I use and recommend is the Omega J8006 Nutrition Center. (<—That’s the exact model I have. Yes, mine is pink! That is my affiliate link, by the way.💚) It’s a masticating juicer, which means it’s highly efficient and the juice you make actually lasts a few days.

This Vitamin C Juice isn’t like my sweet Green Juice recipe. In other words, my kids tried this their noses automatically crinkled. The parsley flavor is there for sure, which tastes fresh to me!

So unless your children have a more sophisticated palate than mine, I’d stick with the smoothie to up their vitamin C.

If you love the idea of adding fresh juices into your routine, you’ll love my new cookbook coming out February 5th! It’s called Anti-Inflammatory Drinks for Health and it’s filled with healthy juices, smoothies, shots, tonics, and more! You can preorder it here!
