Stitch Fix Review: November 2014

Daylight savings time has stolen my quiet mornings.  I remember a time, pre-kids, when “fall back” meant I actually got an extra hour of sleep.  Now it just means I have one less hour to myself in the mornings until everyone adjusts to the time change. Typically I am up an hour before the kids.  Of course, they didn’t get the memo that they’re supposed to sleep in. Sunday morning both kids were up at 6:15.  Today, Luke was up at 5:45 and Meghan was up at 6:30.

One blessing that came with Meghan being up an hour early was that our morning was much less rushed today and we even had time for her to take the photos for this post.  Tim took photos of me last night, and it wasn’t until I was in bed uploading them that I realized that a setting on the camera was off and all the pictures were blurry.  The extra hour allowed me to get this Stitch Fix review post up and keep to my editorial calendar!

When I told Meghan all of Daddy’s pictures were blurry and I needed her to take them, she said, “I’m a lot better at taking pictures than Daddy, aren’t I?” We are still working on the whole idea of being humble. 🙂

All right, let’s get to this Stitch Fix review!  Check out this post if you are not familiar with Stitch Fix.  It’s an awesome service that I’ve been using for 6 months now and absolutely love it.  If you want to hop on the Stitch Fix train (and why wouldn’t you?!), I would love it if you’d use my referral link. Thanks friends!

Mavi Freida Corduroy $98.00

Stitch Fix Review November 2014I asked for some skinny corduroy jeans this month, and my stylist came through! When I first pulled them out of the box, I wasn’t sure about the color (they are a deep olive), as I tend to gravitate towards brighter colors, but they are great.  The color is so rich and just perfect for fall and winter.  And it’s neutral enough that I can wear them with a lot of things.  In fact I’ve had them a week and have already worn them twice. They are also super comfortable! The material is soft and lightweight.  I just love these.  Keep!

41Hawthorn Presley Colorblock Button-Back Sweater $68.00

Stitch Fix Review November 2014This sweater is great! Yellow is my favorite color, and even though I don’t know if it suits my skin tone and hair color that well, I love wearing it.  I love the details of this sweater–the cute colorblock design and the unique buttons-in-the-back detail.  It fits me well and I know I’ll wear it from now until April.  Keep!

Mavi Kalie Denim Jacket $98.00

Stitch Fix Review November 2014This is a basic denim jacket.  I like the color, but found the fit to be a bit too short and boxy for my body.  Plus, I already have a denim jacket that I love, so I don’t need another.  Return!

Kensie Jeans Sophia Tall Length Skinny Jean $88.00

Stitch Fix Review November 2014

Side Note:  If this isn’t crazy mom hair, I don’t know what is.  Check the mirror, woman!  One drawback of Stitch Fix is you don’t get the same stylist every month.  I requested basic jeans this month as it’s something I really need.  My stylist, however, failed to look back and see that I’ve already been sent a pair of tall length jeans and I made note that I don’t need tall length.  It was even this same brand! These fit well everywhere, but they are clearly too long.  I have short legs! Oh, well.  Return!

41Hawthorn Walden Floral Print Zipper Detail Blouse

Stitch Fix Review November 2014

This blouse is super cute.  I love the pattern and the zipper detail. I just don’t get why this was sent to me in November.  It’s sleeveless.  I don’t live in California.  I know I could probably layer it, but it’s just not what I’m looking for right now.  Plus it was a little too big in the arms area.  You can’t tell in the picture, but it hangs down and shows my bra when I move at all.  Return!

Overall, I’m really happy with this month’s Fix.  Let’s be honest.  It’s a good thing that I don’t love and want to keep everything each month! Keeping one or two new things a month is more than I need already. Want in on the Stitch Fix fun?  Try it out! (<—referral link) Remember that you can totally customize to your own style, price point, and needs.  Plus, who doesn’t love getting a box of fun clothes in the mail?!

Have a great week, friends!

Another blogger review said you can request the same stylist! I haven’t done that but you should try it!

I also got the Olive colored skinny cords. I LOVE them. I haven’t loved a pair of skinnies this much in some time!!! They are super comfy and practically mold to your body shape. Love.

I asked for fitted items, and my stylist sent me that same sleeveless blouse (in a pretty oxblood color) and wrote in her note that it was fitted… Lol, I’m sure your could tell also, but in no way was it fitted! I have a large bust, so anything loose just hangs like a potato sack and makes me look wider than I am. I sent it back, too.

That’s funny! I asked for less flowy items as well, but I guess the stylists really like the loose tops. I’m guessing it’s easier to get those type of tops to fit more people than the more fitted type. Hopefully we both get some better options!

Great Fix! You kept exactly what I would’ve. That sweater is super cute!

I received two Fixes in October and only kept one piece between the two. They are having a hard time styling my pregnant body I think! Oh well, there’s always this month! 🙂

You’re making me crave a fix! You got sent some really cool finds. Those courdoroys are adorbs and it’s been years since I’ve worn them. The skinny jeans look great on you and I love that button back top, too! For my next fix, I should just tell them to send the same stuff they sent you, haha!

I received that back-button sweater in my fix last week! I didn’t end up keeping it but it’s cute.
