Hi, friends! I’m so excited to share a different online styling service with you today. Let me introduce you to Golden Tote.
Golden Tote is a unique online subscription styling service. Here’s how it works:
Choose your tote. Golden Tote currently has 2 options: You choose the $49 dollar tote or the $149 tote. The $49 dollar tote includes 2-3 pieces of clothing and the $149 tote is filled with 5-6 pieces of clothing.
Pick your favorites. You choose 1-2 items (depending on the size of tote you choose) you love from a selection of items available and then a stylist will surprise you with the rest of the pieces.
Create an online style profile. You answer some questions about your body type, style preferences, and lifestyle to help the stylist choose the best pieces for you.
Select Add-ons. You can choose more pieces when you check out for a reduced price.
Golden Tote is different from other online styling services in a few ways. First, the items you receive are deeply discounted. The company works with brands to get their best pieces at insider prices and also have their own collection exclusive to Golden Tote. You know the price of your entire tote (either $49 or $149) ahead of time and it equals out to about $26 a piece (!!). Super inexpensive and the quality is on point!
Because of the deeply discounted pieces, the tote is an all-or-nothing deal, meaning you either keep everything or send everything back. If you decide you want to send individual pieces back, the discounted prices are not valid and pay $35 per piece. No worries, though! There is an active Facebook community for Golden Tote trading, so you don’t have to worry if you get something that doesn’t fit but you want to keep everything else, there’s a great chance you can find someone to make a trade with. I didn’t have that problem, however, as I loved every piece they sent me!
Another different thing about Golden Tote is that you choose 1-2 items yourself. I liked this aspect as I like shopping for myself and the surprise factor. You get the best of both worlds!
So let’s take a look at what came in my Golden Tote. I’ll start with the two pieces I requested.
When I saw this one online I thought it was lovely and don’t have many (any?) winter dresses, so I decided to give it a try. I styled it here with a faux fur vest I got at a local boutique, burgundy tights, and brown booties (from DSW Shoe Warehouse last year).
This is a trendier look than I normally dare to wear, but I wore this to my monthly book club and got tons of compliments. Although I like it with the vest, the dress is really beautiful on its own, too. (Even if the silk hanger tab is showing here.)
Dashing Through the Snow Sweater
Isn’t this a fun and festive sweater? This is the second item I chose and I love it. First I styled it with black leggings and black boots. Looking at this picture I’m thinking it would be cute with a denim shirt under it, as well. I also tried it with some Kut from the Kloth colored jeans for a contrast against the black and white. I added my fuzzy snow boots to compliment the wintery look of the sweater. Not sure I love them with this outfit, but it’s okay. The funny thing about this picture is that is was 70 degrees when I was taking it. Seriously, December, what’s going on?!
Those are the two items I chose, and the rest were my surprises sent by my stylist. Here’s what she picked for me:
Illa Illa Fuzzy Cardi
Isn’t this sweater just the epitome of warm, winter comfort? I love it.
I was a little worried about this dress when I first pulled it out of the tote. It’s not a cut of dress that normally works well for me and I wasn’t sure if it was too young for me, either. But once I put it on with some black tights and black booties, I really liked it. It’s so soft and comfortable!
Le Lis Striped Top with Button Back
Oh, I love this shirt! It’s kind of a basic, casual shirt, but it has some great details. I’m not sure if you can tell, but the black part on the bottom is a super soft suede-like material, which I’m sure has a name but I’m not sure what it is. But I love it. These jeans, as I can now see, are too long to wear with booties.
I love the button detail in the back. So cute! If you’ve read any of my fashion posts before, you probably already know that I love basics that have details that make them stand out. This top is exactly that and it’s a great fit, too.
Gilli Poppy Print Dress
My winter dress game was stepped up a few notches after this tote. I would never have picked this dress with this pattern, but I put it on and fell in love. I think it’s so elegant. I actually already wore it to Meghan’s Nutcracker performance last weekend. I think it could even work as a holiday dress.
This necklace was also in the tote, but it didn’t have a name. Cute, right? I love fun necklaces and can see myself wearing this one a lot. I had already gotten 6 items in the tote, so this necklace was a bonus!
I’m super impressed with Golden Tote. As you know, I love online styling services. Golden Tote stands out because of their incredible pricing. It doesn’t even seem possible that these 7 high-quality pieces I received should total only $149. I’m hooked!
I received my tote in exchange for an honest review and will receive compensation if you sign up for their newsletter. All opinions are 100% my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that keep Happy Healthy Mama going!
