Healthy, nourishing food doesn’t have to be complicated. It can be tasty, wholesome, and convenient, as well as fun and enjoyable. That’s the foundation on which I’ve built Happy Healthy Mama. It turns out, Lara Merriken and I share the same vision. If you don’t recognize that name, does Lärabar sound more familiar?
Yes, Lara Merriken is the woman who founded Lärabar. The entire line of bars is made from simple, recognizable ingredients that taste amazing. If you’ve read Happy Healthy Mama for any amount of time, you know that I’ve been a huge fan since discovering Lärabar back when my now 11-year-old daughter, Meghan, was a toddler.
Lara was on a hike in the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Colorado when the idea hit her. Why not take simple ingredients like fruit and nuts and turn them into a product that tastes incredible?
She took that idea and turned it into a reality. I so admire her grit and determination, testing her recipes on friends and family until they were just right. The first batch for retail was made without sophisticated manufacturing, and each bar was hand sealed. I admire Lara as a woman who turned her passion into a business that has a positive impact on society. Beyond creating wholesome products that make healthy eating easier and more convenient for modern women (thank you!), her company also contributes to important causes that make a global impact—like the Whole Planet Foundation. Thanks to both Lärabar and Whole Foods, this is a foundation with a mission to alleviate global poverty. It focuses on empowering women in developing nations, where even a small loan can help an entrepreneur start a home-based business and build a better life for her family. You can read more about the Whole Planet Foundation and the great work they are doing, here.
I’m honored to share Lara’s Lärabar story, as I’ve loved and relied on these products for years. Learning more about how the company was born and Lara’s personal mission only strengthens my love of the brand.
I’m not sure I’ve found a Lärabar variety that I haven’t loved. Lärabar Blueberry Muffin is one of their core bars, and I just love how they use ingredients that are as close to their natural state as possible. You’ll find these alongside the other nutritional bars section at Whole Foods! The protein bars, such as Lärabar Protein Almond Butter Chocolate Brownie and Lärabar Protein Apple Cobbler, are filled with 11 grams of plant-based protein from peas and nuts.
I love having these bars with me at all times. As an active mom who’s busy but cares deeply about the foods I put in my body, they are a perfect fit.
You can find all varieties at Whole Foods Market. I love Whole Foods because they always have the exact products I want. I was able to easily find these during a recent shopping trip!
Am I the only one who has to have a bar before I even finish putting my groceries away? Just me?
If you’re looking for a convenient food that’s better for you than most of what you can find in that category, I urge you to try Lärabar. You’ll love the ingredients and the taste, and it’s a company you can feel great about supporting.

The most extravagant president in history is accepted to be Donald Trump, who is frequently viewed as the primary extremely rich person president. This is the best example of it. I really inspire to start Cannabis business plan website after reading the articles written by this person.
