Even though the calendar says there’s a few weeks of spring left, in my mind summer begins when school is out. Since today is Meghan’s last day of school, I feel like summer is officially beginning. I thought that would be the best time to wrap up my Spring Cleaning Challenge.
I haven’t updated you in a few weeks with my cleaning adventures. Sometimes life doesn’t fit into a neat little blogging box, do you know what I mean? I have been doing some spring cleaning tasks, but I haven’t had the time to tackle one large project the last few weeks. It’s been more like scattered jobs here and there, fit into the nooks and crannies of my spare time. Not anything worthy of pictures or its own blog post.
At the end of this Spring Cleaning Challenge, I can say my house is a neater and more organized and it feels good. There are still a few more tasks I’d like to complete, but they will probably become fall cleaning tasks. Summer is a time for being outside, not stuck in the house with big cleaning projects. Agree?
I’d like to leave you with a list of the best Spring Cleaning Checklists from all over the web. The Martha Stewarts of the world (and Martha herself) are what inspired me to do this challenge in the first place. Their checklists are thorough (probably more thorough than I actually cleaned, but shhhh….) and easy to follow. If you didn’t get to spring cleaning this year, save this post for next year–these lists are a great starting point!

I hope that this series inspired you to get cleaning this spring. I definitely did more projects than I normally do, so thanks for keeping me accountable. Now the biggest challenge will be keeping the house neat and organized with two kids home all day in the summer. I sense a fall cleaning challenge in the making!
