Just look at the GORGEOUS color of the grapefruit.  Nature is so beautiful.

I didn’t realize I could love grapefruit without covering it with sugar.  Surprise! I can.  And you can, too. These Texas Reds are grown in Texas, where the hot, sunny days and cool nights make for sweet, delicious grapefruit.  Spiced Broiled Grapefruit recipe. This is the most rewarding recipe.  So little effort is required, yet it yields such satisfying results.  Whether you already love grapefruit or don’t think you do, you have got to try this recipe.  All you have to do is melt a little coconut oil, mix it with cinnamon, dried ginger, and allspice, then drizzle it on the grapefruit before it is broiled for about 3 minutes.  Then, top it with just a sprinkle of coarse salt.  Trust me. Do it. This balances the flavors perfectly.  You’ll be wondering why you ever added sugar to your grapefruit anyway. So not necessary.  Spiced Broiled Grapefruit recipe. This Spiced Broiled Grapefruit has become my snacking obsession because it tastes fabulous. But let’s not forget how nutritious this snack is.  You’re getting over 100% of your daily need of vitamin C, not to mention some iron, calcium, vitamin A, and no added sugar.  Cinnamon can help lower your fasting glucose level and coconut oil can help with weight loss. See?  Snack perfection.

Do not wait.  Get yourself some Texas Red Grapefruits from Sweet Scarletts and get broiling.  You will be so happy you did.

This was delicious! The coconut oil & spice mixture amount was enough for us to make two large grapefruit/4 halves. Did not use the salt since I didn’t know when it should be added yet the fruit was great without it.
So easy to make, a nice change from grapefruit halves for breakfast, so tasty, and a fun new dessert for our files!

I’ve never cut my grapefruit in that direction before. Have I been missing some great secret of grapefruit! Is it easier to eat that way?

Also, I have a hard time reading your posts because of the social media tab that comes up on the left hand side. Is that how you have it set up or is it just my iPad?

Thank you for letting me know about the social tab that gets in the way on the ipad. I typically only look at my blog on my laptop or phone, and it doesn’t get in the way on those. I will have to check my ipad and see if it gets in the way on mine, too. I do have those social shares set up to be on the left hand side, but didn’t realize they were in the way. I’ll look into it! Thanks again.
