New pinterest page and some creative inspiration

I remember when I first joined Pinterest there were only a few bloggers I knew who were on it.  Before long, I started getting emails saying another Facebook friend joined.  And another.  And another.  Before I knew it, just about everyone I knew was on Pinterest.  It blew up like Facebook did back in the day.

I love the concept of Pinterest.  So many ideas in one place!  For someone who loves food, it’s fun to see all the recipes that circulate and find new ideas.  It’s risky, though, right?  Just because a friend pinned a recipe doesn’t mean it’s going to be good.

I’ve had a few emails and friends ask me about my Food Inspiration board on Pinterest.  Have I tried all of the recipes?  Do I recommend them?  The answer is no, I haven’t tried them all.  Not even close.  The recipes on my Food Inspiration board are a mix of those that inspire me to try something similar, recipes I’d like to try, recipes that I’d like to try to healthify, and recipes that look good but I’ll probably never make.

The questions helped me realize that I should have a food board dedicated to only recipes I’ve made.   A review board of sorts that shows what’s worked or not worked with online recipes.  So I created a new board, “Food I’ve Made”, where I am only pinning recipes that I’ve recently made and had success with.  I’m including food from other websites as well as my own.  I figure the food from Happy Healthy Mama may be a recipe some of my followers never saw or may highlight a recipe some have wanted to try but forgot about (that happens to me on other blogs all the time).

Either way, I thought this new board would be helpful, and I hope you’ll follow me if you don’t already.  Pinterest is a fun way to share ideas and make each other’s lives a little easier.

Now….I am asking for your help.  I am anticipating having more time for recipes soon, but need some creative inspiration.  I’d love it if you’d leave a comment and tell me what kind of recipes you’d like to see more of in the coming months on Happy Healthy Mama.  More quick and easy dinners?  Healthy desserts?  Snacks?  Kid-friendly fair?  Or even give me specifics like a classic recipe you’d like me to try to make healthier.

I know many of you read my blog in your email, but I would so appreciate if you’d take the time to click over and comment today to let me know what you’d like to see.  I want to give you what you’re looking for, but I need to know what that is!  Pretty please?  Thank you for reading; I so appreciate that you are here.

Have a fantastic weekend!

I love your blog. Reading about you and your family is probably my favorite part. I especially appreciate your recipes since having to give up dairy while nursing a milk protein allergy baby.

Thank you for all the recipes you have provided. We have liked so many of them and they have been great because of my daughter’s dairy allergy. I have especially liked your Vegan entries- they have been very yummy and have helped my in trying others I find. I would like to see more healthy snack ideas, and easy lunch and dinner ideas. Thanks again!!

Ask and you shall receive 🙂 I would have to say my #1 would definitely be quick and easy dinners. Other close seconds would be snacks (tried the high protein energy balls the other day, those are perfect!) and party/finger food that’s healthy and crowd-pleasing. I’m vegan, gluten free, soy free, and use minimal oil…tall orders I know, but it seems many of your recipes already suit me or can be easily modified, so thank you!!

I am the only one NOT on Pinterest yet but if I take the plunge I’ll certainly follow you!

While I love the one pot dishes, my 7 and 3 year old like their food separated out… makes it difficult sometimes. I would love to see quick and easy lunch and dinner ideas with fresh and simple ingredients. We follow gluten and dairy free. Thank you!! Love your website.

Meghan is the same way! I keep hoping she’ll outgrow it. I love one-pot meals but it always makes it difficult with trying to pull out the ingredient before I put them all together. Thanks for the feedback.

I love your blog and have made so many of your recipes to feed my four kids. Just made the butternut rice bowl and we all loved it! I would love to see more quick and easy healthy sometimes vegetarian dinners! I am all about the one pot meal!
Thanks again for all you do…I know how busy being a momma can be.

Loving all your recipes!!! I would like to have more ideas for lunch boxes, I am having a hard time preparing something healthy and yummy for my 3 years old to take to his childcare! Healthy snacks and salads are also welcome 🙂

I have just recently been following your blog and have really been enjoying it. I have been trying to make something new each day or almost every day. 🙂 I have had to be gluten free my whole life so I enjoy any gluten free recipes you post. I am also a nursing mom with a 4 year old so I am also looking for kid friendly recipes. We are vegetarians as well so I enjoy those recipes too. Thank you for the wonderful recipes.

I’m always looking for recipes with LESS ingredients than what I usually find in cookbooks…and of course allergy-friendly recipes too! Easy kid-pleasing lunch and dinner ideas are always helpful. Thanks!

Thank YOU for giving me ideas! 🙂 I agree–less ingredients. I’ve been moving in that direction more and more. Baby #2 makes it much more necessary to have a short ingredient list, right?
