I’m in big trouble, you guys. It was hard enough to not buy too many clothes when I was just using Stitch Fix, but then I went and tried Trendsend, too. There’s no turning back now. I’m head over heels. How can I pick just one subscription box service?
First, let me tell you a little about Trendsend. Trendsend is an online styling service, just like Stitch Fix, but the clothing comes exclusively from the store Evereve.
Have you shopped at Evereve? It’s an amazing boutique that is designed for moms. Their clothes are trendy without looking they were meant for a 20 year old. They are clothes that are chosen with a mom’s body in mind. Their motto is, “Take care of your family, we’ll take care of you!” How great is that? The first time I walked into Evereve, I was in love.
Trendsend is a service that has a personal stylist choose outfits from Evereve for you based on an extensive online style profile you fill out. This is one way that Trendsend is different from Stitch Fix. They send you more pieces (I got 12 in this box!) and put them together in outfits for you. I found this really helpful! There was also no styling fee and free returns, so there’s absolutely no risk involved in trying this service. Twist my arm.
The biggest problem I had with Trendsend is I liked every single thing they sent. I could have kept everything. But. The Trendsend price point is a tad high. I could not have afforded to keep everything. According to my husband, we couldn’t afford to keep what I did, but that’s another story. Let’s focus on the clothes, shall we?
First I’ll show you what I sent back. While I liked everything, I had to narrow it down and only keep the things I loved and imagined myself wearing a lot. These are the pieces I liked, but didn’t make the cut.
AG Farrah Skinny Jeans $215.00
These jeans are fantastic. I love AG jeans so much. They just fit me well. I’ve had two pairs of AG jeans. The first pair I found at a consignment shop for $30 and fell in love with the brand. They fit my body very well and are so soft. Imagine my surprise when I sought out a new pair and found out they were all over $100. I loved them so much I thought they were worth the price, but then that pair ripped in the bottom (#bigbuttproblems) after barely a year. So while these jeans fit great and are super soft, I was scared to buy another pair of lightweight AG jeans, especially at this price.
PEYTON JENSEN Reverse Seam Shirt Tail Tank $48.00
This is a cute cotton tank with lots of material. I liked it, but have a few white tanks so I didn’t keep it.
RENEE C Sunset Scoop Tank $48.00
AG Legging-Greyhound $178.00
Make sure you notice the quotes on the tag. Every tag has a quote pertaining to #momlife. Love it. This was a cute outfit. The top was maybe a tad bit too flowy for me, but otherwise I really liked it. Another pair of AG jeans that fit well, but I didn’t think I’d wear this color as much. My stylist said they are “an edgy update to your normal jeans.” I may need to work on upping my edge factor.
MICHEAL STARS Ls Mesh Sweatshirt $78.00
FREE PEOPLE Bond Cardi $98.00
This white mesh sweatshirt is fun, but I wasn’t sure how much I’d wear it. I actually ordered this box before our beach vacation, but because Trendsend has been more popular than they anticipated, it didn’t come until after our trip. My stylist mentioned that this top would be great over my bathing suit at the beach, and I think it would have been great for that. I may have kept it had I received it before my trip.
This grey cardi is a cute and casual staple piece I would probably wear a lot. I would have love to kept this. It had a nice fit and I could see it being worn in many different ways. With unlimited funds I may have splurged, but instead I sadly sent it back.
LAFAYETTE 14K Gold Plated Side Crystal Necklace $42.00
I thought this necklace was super cute. The only reason I didn’t keep it was because it was $42 and I already had too many clothing pieces I loved and wanted to keep.
Ready to look at what I kept? It was such a difficult choice. I kept things that I really, really love and think I’ll wear a lot. They are all great transitional pieces that I can wear now in late summer and through the fall.
ELLISON Ruby Raw Edge Plaid $58.00
I love this plaid shirt. I’m sorry about the bright sun that makes it look like it’s glowing. I actually took these pictures in the shade of our backyard, but apparently the sun was shining through the trees a little too much. My stylist suggested this would work with shorts and I’ve worn it that way while it’s still hot. I was sweating in these pictures, but I can see myself wearing it with leggings or jeans and boots during the chilly fall days. I love the frayed detail on the bottom–it really makes it more unique.
PEYTON JENSEN Westwood Detached Collar Tee $48.00
7 FOR ALL MANKIND Josephina $167.00
This casual grey t-shirt pretty much defines my daily uniform. It’s comfortable, yet the cute details elevate it beyond a regular tee. The material is so soft and it lays just right. I’ll pay this much for a t-shirt I love and will wear over and over and won’t lose its shape like cheap tees.
The jeans are called a feminine boyfriend. They are the most comfortable jeans I’ve ever put on my body. They do have a more feminine cut than regular boyfriend jeans, making them more flattering. I wish you could reach through the computer and feel these jeans, though, because that’s what really sold me. They are just so soft! 7 for all Mankind was the very first brand of jeans I splurged on. I was in my second year of teaching and definitely not making enough to justify the cost, but fell in love with the fit. Designer jeans are expensive, but they fit so well I am willing to pay for them. They aren’t jeans that will lose their shape after a few washes. I wear jeans everyday so these will get plenty of wear.
ELLISON Holden Oversize Trench $78.00
JUNK FOOD Endless Weekend Tank $37.00
This oversized trench is adorable. It’s got a great soft material and it drapes so well. Here I am pairing it with the cute Endless Weekend tank (which the stylist suggested in her note), but I have already worn it with a cream colored tank underneath and I loved how that made the olive color pop. I love the light-hearted nature of this tank and have already worn it a lot.
You can get one Trendsend box or set it up to get one as often as you like. Since I loved it, I decided to set it up to get a box every 3 months. I have also changed my Stitch Fix subscription so I won’t be getting a box every month anymore. As much as I love both of these services, a girl can only buy so many clothes! I did get a box from Stitch Fix for September, so I’ll show you those clothes next week.
One thing Trensend doesn’t have, to my knowledge, is a referral system. So there’s no credit for referring friends. I highly recommend this service even though they don’t have that perk. It’s especially great if you are a mom who likes to be fashionable but don’t have the time to shop or would rather have some help styling outfits.
Let me know what you think of Evereve and Trensend!
