Do you know how important it is to drink the right amount of water? Most people know it’s important, but do you do it? Do you actually drink a lot of water? Research indicates that 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated, so if you do, you’re in the minority.
I thought June would be the perfect month to do a challenge involving drinking water! Summer is here and when the weather is hot it’s even more important to make sure you’re drinking adequate water.
Are you chronically dehydrated? You could be without even realizing it.
Here are some signs and symptoms of chronic dehydration:
- fatigue
- constipation
- high blood pressure
- high cholesterol
- acid-alkaline imbalance
- digestive disorders
- asthma and allergies
- skin disorders
- weight gain
- joint pain or stiffness
- bladder or kidney problems
- premature aging
- irritability
- headaches
- foggy memory
So many issues that can result in not being adequately hydrated! These are not things people would automatically assume are linked with how much water you’re drinking.
Most experts recommend 8, 8 ounce glasses of water a day, which is half a gallon. So why a gallon a day?
I’ve been researching what can happen when you drink a gallon of water a day, and have been amazed to hear some of the benefits of drinking this much water.
Check out what may happen if you drink a gallon of water each and every day:
- increased energy
- improved skin clarity
- metabolism boost
- weight loss
- improvement of skin conditions
- lightening of dark circles under eyes
- prevents overeating
- decrease in headaches
- regular bowel movements
- less bloating
I hope you’ll join me in the June challenge to drink a gallon of water every day for 30 days!

I love such ideas and challenges because they develop the right habits. But it is also important to pay attention to the quality of the water you drink, especially if you use tap water. The water in my house was very bad, saturated with harmful chemicals. Now there are good products like under sink water filter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C5J16QMJ that can help you solve this problem

I always try and get 2 liters a day in. Most of the time I can do it. Those colder months make it really hard. I will do my best to take on your challenge of a gallon but I have vacation coming up and will be too hard to measure –so sadly I cannot compete but I’ll do my best.

I try to do this every day and I am usually successful. I even add “drink 2 liters of water” to my daily to-do list to make sure I stay hydrated 🙂
Maryea says
I love that you add it to your to-do list! 🙂

Count me in. If it will help me have energy and more importantly fix the dark circle bags under my eyes I’m all in. Tired of looking like I have 2 black eyes!

Yay! I’m so glad to hear you’re going to do this, Marisa! I look forward to hearing how it helps. 🙂
