Can you believe it’s been a month since I started using Stitch Fix? When I received an email telling me my second Fix from Stitch Fix was on its way, I was shocked at how fast the month had gone by. Slow down, summer, you’re going too fast!
Today I’m going to share with you what I got in my second Fix, but first, just in case some of you missed my first post on Stitch Fix, here’s the rundown of how this service works.
1. You sign up for the service and fill out an extensive style profile, including your fashion likes and dislikes, specific body type, lifestyle needs, and your preferred price point. You answer a lot of questions so the stylists know exactly what type of clothing and accessories will be perfect for you and your life.
2. Stitch Fix sends you a box of five pieces of clothing as often as you’d like (they call this a Fix). You can get a Fix shipped automatically each month, or as often as you’d like by request. I started out doing it once and month and if it gets to be too much I plan on switching and doing it more seasonally. There’s no obligation.
3. Once you receive a Fix, you have 3 days to decide what you’d like to keep and what you’d like to return. They make returns super easy by including a postage-paid, addressed bag you simply need to drop in the mailbox.
4. There is a $20 styling fee that is put towards any purchases you make. If you decide to buy all five pieces, you get 25% off everything.
Cool, right? I have only been at this two months now, but I am in love with this service. Getting clothes in the mail is pretty much one of my favorite things. I love to shop, but don’t really have time or the energy to do it with two kids in tow. I also love how I’m getting pieces that I know I couldn’t find locally.
They also have a great referral program where you get a $25 credit for every person who you refer. A few of you signed up using my referral link last month, and I thank you for that! So if you sign up, make sure you tell your friends about this great service and get some credits towards your future purchases.
All right, let’s get to the clothes! Fun fact: Meghan took these pictures. Some of them are a little hazy, but I think she did a great job! I’m still trying to get comfortable being on the other side of the camera, but I still feel like I look totally awkward. Any fashion models out there who want to give me some tips?!
Market and Spruce Abi Colorblock Maxi Dress $88
I was really excited about this dress when I pulled it out of the box. I love the colors, and the fabric is wonderful! However, it doesn’t fit quite right. The top is too big and the fabric just falls in a weird way. Even if it fit perfectly, though, I couldn’t really justify spending $88 on a maxi dress when I just bought one last month for $78. Return!
Tart Matteo Lightweight Striped Open Cardigan $48
This is another piece I really wanted to love. The stylist did great with nailing my style. I love stripes and the look of open cardigans. The fabric was very high quality and soft. However, this cardigan just had too much fabric. You can’t tell in the photo, but this was a very flow-y cardigan. I wouldn’t mind that so much, but on top of this, I really have no need for something like this in the summer. Where I live, it rarely gets cool enough to need a sweater in the summer. I was sweating just trying this on for the pictures! Return!
Mystree Hannah Striped Lace Detail Fit & Flare Dress $68
Hello, senior picture pose! Not sure what I was thinking with the hand-on-tree pose here. Anyway, I love this dress! I wish I would have had Meghan take a closer picture so you could see the details. The top white part is actually a pretty lace that also repeats on the bottom two white stripes. The back is adorable, as well. Once again, however, this just didn’t fit right. It’s too short (seriously, I tried to bend over and I think my whole bottom showed…) and something about where the seam hit my midsection looked strange. It almost made it look like a baby-doll dress, and I don’t think that’s how it was supposed to look. I was sad this didn’t work because it would have been perfect for a few upcoming events we have. Return!
C. Luce Liam Layered Crochet-Front Tank Top $68 &
Kensie Jeans Johnny Skinny Jeans $88
I love the idea of this top, but didn’t love the fit. It was straight down and rather than a flow-y effect it had a boxy effect that wasn’t flattering. I liked the details of it and how it went lower in the back, but the fit was a deal-breaker. Return!
These are the same jeans I got in my Fix last month, but with a shorter inseam. I love them! They fit great and are super comfortable. Even though I won’t wear them much until fall, I do need a new pair of jeans. Keep!
It’s probably a good thing everything didn’t fit perfectly because I would have wanted to keep it all! I’m already excited to see what I’ll get next month. Seriously, I’m having so much fun with this service! If you decide to give Stitch Fix a try, I’d be so grateful if you use my referral link. Thanks and have a great rest of the week!

I think it is so precious, touching and absolutely adorable that Meghan took all your glam shots. 😀 It’s so sweet to “watch” the beautiful relationship between the two of you grow.
And, Meghan actually took really good photos! I’m officially impressed. 🙂

I’m going to try stitch fix and use your link.
I have not read blogs in a while. Are you still on the strict diet to fix your swollen finger? If so, how’s it going? If not, if you could point me to the post where you posted about your experience I’d love to read it.
Take care!

I’m definitely overdue on an update on the anti-inflammation diet! My last update was in May, here it is in case you missed that one: https://happyhealthymama.com/2014/05/anti-inflammation-diet-update-and-meal-plan-sample.html. I continued the diet for another month after that and then added everything back in to see how it would effect my finger. So far, no changes–my finger feels great! But, I am eating much less wheat and sugar than before. I will post a more detailed update soon!
Thanks so much for using my Stitch Fix link! I really appreciate it. I hope you love the service.

I know you said some things just didn’t fit quite right, but I think they all looked great on you. Meghan did a fabulous job as your photographer. 🙂
Maryea says
Thanks, Kathy. Yeah, I don’t think you can really tell the fit in some of the pictures, but they just didn’t fit well.

I can’t believe you returned so many things, you looked so great in them!

I love these reviews! They’re helping me consider doing it. I too feel like I don’t have enough time to shop and I think I could get used to someone doing the work for me!
REALLY nice job on the photos, Meghan!! She’s your little blogger in the making. 🙂
Maryea says
She really did do a good job, didn’t she? 🙂 It was seeing all the fun reviews on other blogs that finally convinced me to try Stitch Fix. I’m really glad I did.

I loved so much of what you got! I just got my 4th fix yesterday – I wanted to love ALL of it but a couple of pieces didn’t fit me well either. I’m looking forward to my next one!

I think it was a blessing in disguise that everything didn’t fit well as I probably would have wanted to buy it all. I loved the look of everything–just not the fit!

This is such a neat service. I started signing up after reading your last post but didn’t finish and didn’t use your referal link; I’ll have to see if I can get you credit when I order. Super fun for someone who needs a style infusion (like me!)
Maryea says
I think you’d love this, Hallie! 🙂
