I told my kids I wanted to make a new flavor of energy balls and asked them what kind they think I should make. I have a lot of healthy energy balls but it’s always nice to keep things fresh and I love coming up with fun new flavor combinations. So what did they say?

Peanut Butter Chocolate.

Seriously?

I already have not one, but TWO energy ball recipes with chocolate and peanut butter. These High Protein Energy Balls are made with chickpeas and peanut butter and spiked with chocolate chips. These Chocolate Peanut Butter Energy Balls are made with cocoa powder, peanut butter, and black beans.

Notice a trend there? Yep, they both are made with beans. So, even though I’ve already got a couple energy balls with the flavor combination the kids suggested, I decided to go a different route and make these Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Energy Balls with oats as the base.

I have a total mom manicure here. By that I mean no manicure. Sorry about that. Focus on the Peanut Butter Chocolate Energy ball, okay. 🙂

These were a total hit!! The oats make them taste like peanut butter cookies. But they’re still healthy enough to be a snack. At least for the kids. For me, they are dessert. A healthy way to satisfy my sweet tooth? I’ll take it!

Another selling point of this recipe is there’s no food processor needed. One bowl, mix the ingredients together with a spoon, and BAM, you’re done. YES. Make these soon, okay?
