Ah, green juice. Nothing makes me feel better than when I start my day with a glass of the stuff. Doesn’t really matter what kind of greens I use, but green juice seems to have some sort of magical power over my body and it just makes me feel good.
I’m well aware that it could totally be a placebo effect, but I’ll take it.
As often as I can.
This green juice is a hydrating green juice because it’s made with produce that has high water content, including cucumbers and romaine lettuce.
This isn’t as sweet as this Sweet Green Juice Recipe but it does have a sweetness from the pineapple. If I want my kids to drink the green juice I make, I usually include pineapple to offset the earthiness of the greens. It works like a charm! Would you like some of my less-kid-friendly juice recipes? I’m happy to share them here as well! Let me know your requests.

The juicer that I have and love this this Omega J8006 Nutrition Center. It’s a masticating juicer, which I much prefer because I’m able to make a batch of juice that will last 3 days in the refrigerator. Centrifugal juicers are much less expensive, but you have to drink all the juice you make right away as it doesn’t last. The convenience of being able to juice in batches is worth the cost in my eyes, especially if you’re going to make a habit of juicing.
All right….let’s get to the recipe!
Recipe Ingredients–What You Need
Don’t you love when an ingredient list looks like this?! Only fresh produce here. YUM.
- 2 English cucumbers
- 3 hearts of Romaine lettuce
- 3 carrots
- 1 pineapple
How to Make Green Juice
First, you’ll want to cut your produce to a size that fits in your juicer’s chute. Once you do that, process the produce in your juicer. This recipe makes 1 1/2 liters of juice, so you’ll need to empty the container into a larger container half way through.
Once you have all of your juice, if you prefer you can strain it. This is optional, but I prefer a juice without pulp, so I always use a fine mesh sieve to strain my fresh juice.
I actually strained this one twice for extra smooth juice.
