It’s time for the first Stitch Fix review of 2015! Are you new here? Never heard of Stitch Fix? Let me give you the quick rundown.
Stitch Fix is an online styling service. After filling out an extensive style profile, a stylist hand-chooses five pieces to send you. This is called a “Fix.” You look at and try on all of the items in your Fix, and decide what you’d like to keep. You send back whatever you don’t want using the postage-paid, addressed bag that comes with your Fix. You can put it right in your mailbox for your mail person to pick up.
The cost of the items varies, but they say the average piece is $65. You can tell them your price point and budget needs. There is a $20 styling fee, which goes towards any purchases you make. If you decide to buy all five pieces, you get 25% off of everything!
I love Stitch Fix because it’s convenient (No more trying to shop for clothes with kids! Can I get an Amen to that?!) and fun. Getting clothes in the mail might be the best thing ever.
Are you ready to see what I got this month? Let’s do this!
Andrew Marc Phelix Fur Hood Drawstring Waist Coat $98.00
I like this coat and thought $98 was reasonable for a winter coat. The problem is that I didn’t ask for a winter coat and I already have three winter coats. I would have loved to keep this, but it would have been a pretty frivolous purchase. Return!
Collective Concepts Boregard Wavy Chevron Front Pocket Blouse $68
When I first saw this was a chevron print I was automatically going to send it back. I’m kind of over the chevron pattern–it’s been pretty overdone wouldn’t you say? Then I tried it on and liked it. I think the jagged edges make it look less like chevron, so maybe that’s what made it better for me. I also had nothing I wanted to wear on Christmas, and I thought this top could work. The outfit you see above is actually what I wore to Christmas Eve mass. I wore it tucked in for a more polished look, but I love that this shirt also looks great untucked with jeans. Keep!
Mavi Freida Tall Skinny Jean $98
You guys, they sent me tall jeans again! These jeans are pretty cool and I loved the unique color (they are grey, although the picture isn’t looking as true to their color on my monitor) and soft feel of them. Mavi is still the favorite brand I’ve gotten from Stitch Fix so far. BUT. These jeans are obviously too long and it makes them look frumpy. A bunch of you mentioned that I should request the same stylist and I think I really do need to do that. The new ones aren’t looking back to see that tall jeans don’t work for me. The problem is that I’m not sure who to request. I’ve been waiting to find one who totally nails my style. In the meantime, I’m going to update my style profile so there is a prominent note that I don’t need tall jeans. In the past I have just put it in my feedback notes, so I don’t think that always gets read by the next stylist. Hopefully that will help! Return!
Ellison Davis Leopard Print Button-Up Cardigan $68
I normally only wear animal prints in small doses, adding a touch with a scarf or shoes. I thought this top was really fun, though. In the end, I told myself I could only keep one of the tops. It was a close call, but the black and white top won because I thought I’d get more wear from it. Do you think I made the right call? Return!
Romolo Austin Mini Spoon Drops Necklace $34.00
Once again I forgot to get a close up of the necklace, so please excuse the grainy photo. I’m a sucker for cute jewelry these days and I really loved this necklace. I’ve already worn it three times! It’s very cute and goes with everything. Keep!
Next month we are going on vacation (can’t wait!!) so I requested some vacation clothes. We’ll see how they do! If you are interested in giving Stitch Fix a try, I’d really appreciate you using my referral link. Thanks so much, friends! I hope you are having a wonder-filled week.

Completely unrelated to your stitch fix items, but I love your sneakers in the picture showing the tall gray skinny jeans. Wondering if you could tell me what brand they are?
Maryea says
Sure! They are Josef Seibel “the European Comfort Shoe.” 🙂

Thanks!

You look just like Jennifer Aniston!! I had to do a double take on the first pic 🙂
Love your blog and your mission!

You are too sweet! Thank you Synte. I used to hear that a lot when I was younger, but haven’t heard it in years, so thanks.:)

OMG you totally DO look like J.A. in that first photo. It’s crazy!

In your profile, for the question “What length jeans do you prefer? (Select all that apply)” which did you select? I changed mine to Ankle and started receiving reasonably-long pants finally!
Maryea says
I double checked my profile and I had nothing checked for that one. I changed it! Thanks for the heads up!
