My baby girl, Meghan, is seven today. She’ll always be my baby girl, even as she grows.
At seven, Meghan’s favorite thing to do in the world is dance. She takes ballet and tap and was born to perform. She has a heart for God, loves her family, is smart, friendly, and funny, and I feel so lucky to be her mom.

After the magic show we enjoyed cake and ice cream. Meghan requested a cake “with a picture made of frosting” this year. I was nervous because while I can bake a cake from scratch, I am certainly not a cake artist. I was so happy to learn that Whole Foods makes decorated cakes without artificial dyes. They weren’t able to quite create red and black (which was the color scheme we went with for decorations), but we loved this cake. Meghan was beyond excited about it.

I asked Meghan what she’d like to have for her special birthday dinner tonight, and she requested a grilled cheese sandwich. Well, that should be easy! Her biggest wish for her birthday gift was a jump rope, so she’ll be thrilled to open that up tonight as well. (We got her this rainbow one from Amaz0n–she said she wanted one like the kind she uses at recess at school.)
Meghan, happy birthday! You are so loved.

Happy Birthday Meghan!
Awww…this is so sweet. Happy birthday to your baby girl! I once had a magic party when I was about 6, I think. I remember it being so fun!
I think this is the age where they just love magic! 🙂
Happy 7th Birthday Meghan!!! What a sweet girl you are. My baby girl just turned 17 on the 19th, so your birthdays are close. We enjoyed cake and ice cream this weekend as well. Have a fabulous year!!! And by the way, I am way older than your mom and I still enjoy jumping rope. 🙂
Aww thank you for your sweet words, Kathy!
