For a long time I ran a series, Natural Products I’m Loving Now, where I showed you the natural products I tried and loved. I tried many natural products that I didn’t like or didn’t work, so I wanted to take some of the guess work out of it for you. I started out sharing every month, then quickly changed it to a seasonal series. After sharing quite a few times, I stopped having as many new products to tell you about. Since I haven’t tried enough new natural products lately to warrant a whole post, I thought I’d share with you the best of the best. These are the products that have passed the test of time and are used regularly in my life. I looked through all of my old natural products posts and I actually still use everything I’ve shared with you, but these are my favorites. Keeping my home as natural and toxin-free as possible is my goal. Let me help you on that same journey!

Natural Products I Love in the Kitchen
Non-Stick Silicone Baking Mats
I get a lot of mileage out of these baking mats. I use them every single week. It helps me cut back on the amount of parchment paper I need to use and they work perfectly. Nothing sticks to them and they are easy to clean. These are the best-priced silicone baking mats I’ve seen, as well.
Real Salt
I use both the fine salt and the Kosher salt from this brand. This is salt that retains its natural mineral content and isn’t processed like many salts on the market. There’s no anti-caking agents or extra ingredients. Just salt! This is the only salt we use in my kitchen.
Everything e-cloth
e-cloth continues to be my go-to brand for cleaning cloths. They are the cloths that clean everything with JUST water! They do a fantastic job on counters, stainless steel, windows, just about everything in your house you need to clean. I also use their mop and love it. Chemical-free cleaning at its best.
Pyrex Glass Storage Containers
Pyrex glass storage containers are used every single day in my kitchen. I store leftovers in these, use them for the produce I chop ahead of time, and they can even go right into the oven. I don’t know what I’d do without these! I’ve stocked up quite a collection over time and they are fabulous.
Personal Care Natural Products I Love
Primal Pit Paste
If it ain’t broke, don’t try to fix it. This is the ONLY natural deodorant I’ve tried that works. And believe me, I’ve tried a lot. I’ve used this for almost 2 years now and it continues to keep my pits smelling fresh. 🙂 It also comes in stick form if you feel strange about rubbing the paste under your arms. Tim and I both use Primal Pit Paste. He prefers the unscented variety, while I like lavender or jasmine.
Tarte Cosmetics
Tarte is my favorite, go-to brand for natural cosmetics. They are cruelty-free, gluten-free, chemical-free, and the best part is the products are awesome. I can’t deal with natural products that don’t work. This stuff works. It looks great, stays put, and is my favorite make up line I have ever tried, natural or not. All of my make up is Tarte.
Diva Cup
I’ve been using the Diva Cup for almost 3 years now. I can’t imagine going back to tampons. Tampons are made with chemicals that you really don’t want close to your lady parts. You know how pristine white they are? Chlorine bleach, baby. I don’t want my body absorbing that. Dioxin (a chlorine-compound left behind by the bleaching process) is listed as a carcinogen by the World Health Organization. No, thank you.
Savannah Bee Company Beeswax Hand Cream
This hand cream is a little jar of magic. This saved my hands and Meghan’s hands two winters in a row now. If Meghan doesn’t use this, her hands are red, dry, and irritated. As soon as she begins using it nightly, her hands go back to soft and smooth. It’s fabulous. I also discovered this Savannah Bee Company Royal Jelly Body Butter Cream. Oh. My. Goodness. This stuff is gold. I am in love with it. It smells like heaven. I find it so difficult to find products that smell good without synthetic fragrances. This one is the exception! Worth every penny.
Dr. Woods Pure Castile Peppermint Soap
This is still my favorite shower soap. We’ve been using it for over two years and love it. The bottle lasts a long time so it’s really a great value. You can use this soap for household cleaning also.
doTERRA Veráge Skin Care Collection
I fell pretty hard for this skin care collection the first time I tried it and have been hooked ever since. A friend of mine recently started her own organic skin care line and asked me to give her products a try, which I have been for the last week, but I have to say this line is going to be hard to beat. It comes with a cleanser, a toner, a hydrating serum (which makes the whole set 1000% worth it) and a moisturizer. It smells great and is perfect for (ahem…) aging skin.
These are the best of the best on my list of natural products. I get tons of people asking me if I have a good natural shampoo and/or conditioner recommendation, and so far, I don’t. I feel like I’ve tried every kind under the sun, but haven’t found one that I love. If you have a great natural shampoo and conditioner recommendation, I would LOVE to hear it! Please share any other recommendations you have in the comments. It’s so much easier to try a new natural product when you hear from someone who has tried it and loved it. It was a reader who prompted me to try Primal Pit Paste. I love this community! 🙂

You should try native deodorant! It’s amazing! Lavender scent

Hello, so happy I found your blog! I’ve never used tampons but I do use pads, should I also be worried about the toxins?
Maryea says
If you are using regular pads, yes, they do have unhealthy chemicals. You can buy organic pads without the toxins, though. They sell them at our local health food store.

Oh, I’m in love with my Diva Cup too! I’ve never felt this comfortable. It’s like not having a period at all.

I have been using the Trader Joe’s Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo for a year or so and I love it. I haven’t tried the conditioner.
Maryea says
Thanks for the recommendation!

I agree with Kristin about Acure (I like their whole line – lotions, face scrubs, oils). But I found another shampoo and conditioner that works really well on my hair – Evolvh. A little pricier but I love it. If your readers don’t like the idea of the Diva Cup, there’s Natracare Organic Cotton Tampons without chlorine. I love talking about natural products!
Maryea says
Thanks so much–I will definitely check out Evolvh. Where do you buy it?
Michele says
I’ve gotten the Evolvh from Opensky.com and Dermstore.com. I hope you like it.
Maryea says
Perfect-thanks!

I’ve been wondering about the Diva Cup for a while now. I just switched to Glad Rags but I’d be interested in trying the Diva Cup. I’ll have to look into it a little bit more. I’d love to get away from those bright white tampons! Thanks for sharing your list.
Maryea says
It saves money and you also never have to worry if you are out of tampons when you start your period!

I love these type post. They have helped me to improve my home as well. Two things I would like to try are the silicone mats. Had my eye on them for some time. Maybe this is the year. And the Primal Paste.
Thank you!!!

I love Acure Organics shampoo and conditioner. They are rated pretty well by the EWG’s skin deep site (a 1 or 2 maybe??) and I like what they do for my hair. Love these posts of yours!
Maryea says
Thanks for the recommendation–I will check them out!

I love this post idea! It’s interesting to see which products stay in the long run, when the original excitement fades.
I love our glass storage containers too – would never go back to the plastic!
And the Diva Cup… total game changer. Same as you, cannot imagine going back!
Whitney says
These are some of my favorite posts of yours. Thanks!

You’re welcome!

Can you share if the Diva Cup is ummm….hard to use/insert or was the learning curve pretty simple? Would love to save the money/environment by purchasing/using one just scared about using it in public places. Thoughts/suggestions?
ellen says
I have been using a Diva Cup for about 7 years. It is AWESOME. There is a learning curve, but it is pretty quick. You essentially fold it in a letter C shape to insert it and then twist to open it. Easy-peasy once you get the hang of it (by the end of 1 day? 2 max?) It holds A LOT more than a tampon so emptying it in public places is generally not even a thing for me. You will not regret geting one. Good luck!
Maryea says
Thanks for sharing your experience, Ellen!
Maryea says
It’s easy to insert once you get the hang of it. That didn’t take very long. Using it in public isn’t my favorite thing, but it’s not terrible. I think it’s worth it.

I love my Diva Cup! If you’ve ever inserted a diaphragm (I’m dating myself, right?), this is along the same idea. You fold it in half, then half again, so it’s all folded up, insert like a tampon, then turn 360’degrees to ensure it has opened fully. Then just push it up a little bit. I am able to wear mine for about 6-8 hours, and can usually get away with emptying it about twice a day, even on “heavier” days.
