I checked and double checked my calendar–I am in fact in week 32 of my pregnancy. (After last week’s mix up, I can never be too sure.) October is almost gone. In a few more days Halloween will be done, then it’s Thanksgiving in a few short weeks, and then….Christmas! Christmas means baby time. Wow! Here’s how things are going this week.
How I’m Feeling
Overall, I’m happy and enjoying this pregnancy. I would describe myself as uncomfortable a lot, though. I just can’t seem to get comfortable, whether I’m sleeping or awake. There are aches and pains in my lower back, shoulders, and other random places. Carrying a baby is tough on a body!
I’m still spending a lot of time tossing and turning at night, trying to get comfortable. Sometimes it feels like I’m not sleeping at all, although I know I am. I’m just awake so often. The weirdest part about being awake so much during the night is the dreams. Since I’m waking up in the middle of so many different dreams, I remember them all. One night I dreamt, what felt like all night long, about pumpkin pie. In the morning I felt like I was baking all night and didn’t sleep at all. Very strange.
What’s Going on with my (and Baby’s) Body
According to my pregnancy books, Baby Bean is around 4 pounds now. If he’s anything like his dad (a 10 1/2 pounder at birth), he might be bigger. Whether he’s bigger or average-sized, I can tell he’s pretty squished inside me. I love when I can feel a foot kicking me on one side of my stomach and feel a push on the other side of my belly as well. I can just picture him stretching out.
My stomach is getting so big that my walk is turning into a waddle. Okay. Maybe it already is a waddle, not turning into one. I’ll embrace the pregnant woman waddle.
The last two weeks haven’t been my best weeks. For two weeks in a row that I’ve only gotten two days in of exercise. For me, this doesn’t feel like enough. If my body was telling me to slow down or I was feeling like it was too hard to exercise, that would be one thing. But the opposite is true. When I get a workout in, I feel more energy and better overall.
I know the not sleeping well part is making it more difficult to get the workouts in. Meghan’s nap time rolls around, and I am so tired I want to just rest. Then I need to get some cleaning/food prep/blog work done, and boom! nap time is over. Excuses, excuses.
I think publishing it on the blog will help it become a reality, so I’m going to tell you that my goal is to get 4 workouts in the next week. I will schedule the times in and make it happen. Concrete goals really help me accomplish more, so I hope this helps. Baby and mama both need it.
Now I am off to enjoy some Halloween festivities. Tim and I have a funny couple costume planned. I’ll share some pictures on Monday. Enjoy your weekend!
