After the tremendous growth that went on the last few weeks, this week felt uneventful in the land of pregnancy. I have a feeling these next few weeks are going to drag as I wait for my ultrasound at 19 weeks. I’m going to have to find a lot of things to keep me extra busy.
How I’m Feeling
Can you hear that? I think it’s angels singing. It seems I’m into that lovely part of pregnancy where you are over the initial yuckiness, but still not so big that you get exhausted just trying to get out of a chair. I’m loving how I’m feeling!
The nausea has almost completely disappeared. It’s kind of like leftovers you leave in the back of the fridge. You mostly forget they are there, but every once in a while you get a glimpse and remember, oh yeah, you’re still around. I can handle a few waves of nausea, though, compared to how I felt before.
My energy level is much, much better. I wouldn’t say I’m as energetic as my non-pregnant self, but I feel much less tired than I did during my first trimester and a few weeks into my second.
Even though I’m not as exhausted as I was, I’m not sleeping well. I wake up to go to the bathroom and have trouble falling back asleep. Getting comfortable when you are pregnant is tricky. I often wake up in the morning not as refreshed as I should feel. I’m hoping that I get to enjoy some good sleep soon because I know it only gets worse in the third trimester.
Exercising Baby Steps
You probably noticed I’m wearing workout clothes for this week’s photos. I’m finally starting to get into a groove with exercising again. While I’m not doing anything vigorous, it feels amazing to just be doing something. I’ve been doing light strength training and walking. During one walk I felt so good I almost busted into a run, but changed my mind because I didn’t want to ruin how good I was feeling. I’ve also found some fun pregnancy workout videos on YouTube that I’ve tried. I may look into ordering a few pregnancy DVDs–any recommendations?
What’s Going on with my Body
While there are a lot of changes going on inside, I didn’t notice any big changes on the outside this week. I grew so much in the last few weeks, it had to slow down sometime.
I’m waiting anxiously to feel movement from Baby Bean, but haven’t yet. At least I don’t think so. There have been a few flutters, but nothing that I was certain was the baby. I can’t wait to feel those little kicks! It’s reassuring and I remember feeling so connected to Meghan when I felt her moving inside me. It’s by far my favorite part of pregnancy. With Meghan I had to wait until 20 weeks to feel anything, but I’m hoping this time it will be sooner.
Tim is my photographer for these pregnancy photo shoots. For this one he started acting silly, saying work with me, work with me here, and I complied. So I included the few shots of me pretending to be a model. I thought you might need a good laugh heading into your weekend! 🙂
I am sooo excited for you!! You look stunning! Those last two shots are hilarious. 🙂
Thank you, Stephanie! 🙂
How beautiful you are! Pregnancy looks so good on you! I am glad you have more energy now and you feel ready to stexercise (and hopefully to post a lot of tasty recipes) :).
Oh, thank you! I am hoping many more tasty recipes will be coming your way! 🙂
Love the belly! I can’t wait to hear about when he/she starts kicking!
You look fantastic!
I love your blog, I’ve been reading for a few weeks and you always make me smile 🙂
Thanks, Sophie!
Lookin’ great & I love that you call the baby baby bean – so cute. 🙂
Glad you are finally feeling better! Oh, how I remember the awfulness of the yucky feeling days. You are completely adorable and so happy that you can enjoy your pregnancy a little more now.
You are a natural model, Maryea. And Tim is quite the photographer. 🙂
You look so wonderful! I’ve never seen such a perfectly round pregnant belly before! So cute! I’m happy to hear you are feeling better!
Glad that you are feeling good, your outlook must help! ….I got to feel my sisters little one move last night while I was home. It is a *busy* little one in there! It was AMAZING! I just can’t believe that the little one is pushing on her just to say ‘hello’. I almost cried, my heart was just so happy. I love feeling the little life inside of her….. Hopefully sometime soon you’ll just be going about your life and it will shock you with a backflip! 🙂
bahahaha work it girl! I love the last two shots =)
Lookin good sista! Glad you are feeling good. Thumbs up to getting back to exercising. It always helped me feel better while I was pregnant.
So glad you’re feeling good most of the time now! What a relief eh? And I’m glad you’re feeling so good about being active. Even if it’s not very intense it’s still nice to do something rather than nothing!
You look great! glad the yuckiness is over and you can enjoy your pregnancy for a while.
I definitely had a good laugh, thank you 🙂 You look great!
congrats! You look great! I’m a follower, but not sure if I’ve ever commented. I think I found you from Chronicles of a Babywise Mom. I highly recommend Lindsay Brin’s exercise videos. I wish I would have found her sooner, but used her DVD’s w/ my 3rd. (born 3 mos ago). They are the perfect combination of toning & cardio and there are 3 different DVD’s – one for each trimester. Each one has a yoga/pilates section too. You can check them out at http://www.momsintofitness.com and I also follow her blog at http://www.lindsaybrin.com. She just had her 3rd baby bout 3 weeks ago and documents the process of getting her body back. I’ve just finished her 60 day slim down that I started when my baby was 7 weeks old and I lost tons of inches and 17 lbs! I highly recommend her post-pregnancy stuff too 🙂 She has no idea who I am, I just love her stuff – and she’s really a mom so that makes me feel like I can do it too! HTH!! Keep up the good work!
Thanks for your comment, Leigh Anne. I am going to check out both of the sites you recommended and look into those DVDs. Sounds like something I’d like.
