Life can be such a roller coaster. Right when I think I’ve got my schedule and routine under control, life gets crazy and I get behind and can’t catch up. Last week was one of those weeks where I had too many things to do and not enough time to get it all done. What suffered? My workouts. Is that always the first thing to go for you, too?
I only got two workouts in last week. It’s been a long time since that happened. Why, oh why, did it have to happen during the Move More Challenge?! Gah! This is life, my friends. It’s busy, messy, and crazy, and sometimes, everything doesn’t fit together perfectly.
The good news is that even though I didn’t get as many workouts in, I was aware of my activity and my steps were still decent. I didn’t hit 10,000 every single day, but I was pretty close on the two days I didn’t. I love having a Garmin watch to track my steps. It really helps keep me aware of how much I’m moving (or lack of movement).
We had friends come into town this weekend and my high school girlfriend had a fitness calendar with her. She schedules all of her workouts and keeps track of them from year to year. I may not be at that point, but it was inspiring! If you want to ensure you’re going to get X number of workouts in, put them in your schedule! Look at your week, and plan exactly where you will fit them in. I’ve done that a little in the past, and it really does help. Time to get back on that train.

It is really sad, but workouts are the first to go for me, too.
I always strive to get to a point where I’m so consistent with my runs that I don’t consider skipping an option, but unfortunately at some point my schedule always takes over.
I guess the important thing is to always start again.
Love that you focus on using less plastic. My husband and I started to reduce our plastic use a few years ago, and while we have reduced it quite drastically, we still find ways to reduce further. I think it’s such an important step to take in order to keep your family healthy!
