*Sigh* Meghan started her second year of preschool today. While she was gone, I sat around watching home videos from when she was a baby, blubbering and wondering how she got so big so fast.
Not really. But if I would have had the time to do that, I definitely would have cried while watching them. I still call her Baby, after which she always reminds me that she’s a big girl, not a baby. I can’t help it; I’m just not ready for her to be the big girl she is.
This isn’t going to get any easier, is it?
Last year I started the tradition of letting her choose a special breakfast for her first day of school. When I asked her this year what she’d like for her first-day-of-school breakfast, she said cookies. Cookies for breakfast? Sure. Why not? So cookies she got.
This morning she said she also wanted a smoothie, so along with two pumpkin breakfast cookies she also had a strawberry-banana-peanut butter smoothie (almond milk+1/2 banana+a few strawberries+peanut butter+ice).
Somebody else wanted a breakfast cookie, too. Not quite yet, buddy.
I know it looks like he is ready to snatch those vitamins, but I promise you I was right there. He wasn’t going to get those chubby little fingers on anything.
Fueled by her special breakfast, Meghan had a great first day. She loves school and was ready to go back. Probably more ready than I was to let her go.
There is one teeny perk that I’m looking forward to. If Luke cooperates and naps well, I should have 1-2 hours of “free time” while Meghan’s at school. It’s been a long time since I’ve had that, so I might just get to spend a little more time on the blog. If I start getting more posts up, you’ll know Luke is napping well.
I have a recipe I hope to share tomorrow, so see you then!

oh, so cute photos. She looks like an angel. I remember how my children went to school. I so wanted to spend more time with them. But studying took too much time. And I checked their homework for a very long time. Therefore, I began to use the services of https://pro-papers.com/homework-help-online. It began to take much less time to check, and I could do really interesting things with children more.

Aww, so cute! Happy first day! Even though it was last week, lol. I’m just a touch behind since my little guy started school. I did read this when you first posted it though and I love your idea so I asked my son what he wanted for breakfast. I made sure to tell him he could have anything he wanted…. And he said oatmeal. LOL. Just thought I’d share that 🙂 I hope you get a little more free time now! It’s so nice when naps work out well even though they don’t all the time.

Such cute pictures! Good luck with the nap schedule–I know how precious a few hours (minutes, even!) of time to yourself can be.
