Scale
- 1 large loaf Ciabatta bread
- 4–5 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup pastured butter
- 1 1/4 cups freshly shredded Parmesan cheese
Notes
- Make sure your butter is at room temperature. The easiest way to combine the butter with the parmesan cheese and garlic is to use a hand mixer. Of course, a stand mixer would work as well. You can also use a fork.
- If you’re using a thin baguette for this recipe, you’ll want to cut the whole loaf in half so there’s a top and bottom. Spread the butter mixture in the middle and follow the rest of the recipe as written. After it bakes, you can slice the bread to have stuffed baguette pieces.
- If your mixture is too thick to be spreadable, add a little olive oil to help thin it out.
- If you would like to make this a pull apart bread, after you cut the initial bread slices, cut across those slices to make small pockets and fill those with the garlic butter mixture. Bake as directed in the recipe.
- My family prefers the simplicity of using just butter, garlic, and cheese, but adding fresh herbs is a great way to customize this. Fresh parsley or rosemary in the butter mixture would be delicious.
