When you need a substitute for buttermilk, this is the quick and easy way to make an alternative that works just like buttermilk. You can make this vegan or not!
Ingredients

- 1 scant cup unsweetened almond milk*
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar**
Instructions
- Pour the milk into a 1 cup measuring cup until it’s almost full.
- Stir in the vinegar.
- If time permits, allow it to sit for a few minutes, if not, proceed with the recipe.
Notes
*unsweetened almond milk is what I usually have on hand and use, but any milk will work, dairy or non-dairy.
**White vinegar also works.
