Buttermilk Substitute

Description

When you need a substitute for buttermilk, this is the quick and easy way to make an alternative that works just like buttermilk. You can make this vegan or not!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 scant cup unsweetened almond milk*
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar**

Instructions

  1. Pour the milk into a 1 cup measuring cup until it’s almost full.
  2. Stir in the vinegar.
  3. If time permits, allow it to sit for a few minutes, if not, proceed with the recipe.

Notes

*unsweetened almond milk is what I usually have on hand and use, but any milk will work, dairy or non-dairy.

**White vinegar also works.
