Description

With a firm egg white, and a runny yolk, the soft boiled egg is perfection!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 48 large eggs

Instructions

Stove Top Instructions

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil.
  2. Gently drop the eggs into the water.
  3. Cook the eggs for 6 1/2 minutes, adjusting the temperature so that the water comes to a gentle simmer.
  4. Meanwhile, fill a bowl with water and ice.
  5. After 6 1/2 minutes, gently transfer the eggs to the ice bath.
  6. When they are cool enough to handle, peel the shells.

Instant Pot Instructions

  1. Add 1 cup of water to the inner pot of your Instant Pot. Place the steamer rack inside.
  2. Place the eggs on the steamer rack.
  3. Press the manual or pressure cook button for high and adjust the time to 3 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, fill a bowl with water and ice.
  5. Use the quick release method to release the pressure.
  6. Gently transfer the eggs to the ice bath.
  7. When they are cool enough to handle, peel the shells.

Notes

I much prefer using my Instant Pot for this recipe as the shells peel so much more easily.
