It’s easy to make the Classic Mint Julep recipe at home with just a few simple ingredients!
Ingredients
Scale
- 2.5 ounces bourbon
- 0.5 ounces simple syrup
- 5–7 mint sprigs
- crushed ice
Instructions
- Muddle the mint sprigs with the simple syrup at the bottom of a julep cup*
- Fill half way with crushed ice. Add bourbon and stir.
- Fill remaining half cup with crushed ice and garnish with a mint sprig.
Notes
*Mint Juleps are traditionally served in pewter or silver cups . The photograph above shows a modern copper mint julep cup. (affiliate links). If you don’t have a traditional Mint Julep cup, use whatever highball glass you have.
