Description

This Cashew Cheese Sauce is easy to make with a few simple ingredients and has the best creamy texture and cheesy flavor. The best vegan alternative to cheese!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup cashews
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup nutritional yeast
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons tomato paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Place the cashews in a small bowl and fill it with water until they are completely covered by at least 2 inches. Allow the cashews to soak for 4+ hours.
  2. Drain the soaked cashews. Discard the soaking water.
  3. In a powerful high speed blender, add the cashews, 1 cup water, nutritional yeast, tomato paste, lemon juice, garlic salt, smoked paprika, and salt. Blend on high until you have a completely smoothy, creamy sauce.
  4. Sauce may be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 4-6 days.
